This was my first guitar.
My Mother paid thirty-nine dollars for this guitar and twenty-nine dollars for a small amp. I am grateful to have had a Mother who loved music and the arts the way she did.

The Church

My first experience with the guitar came through my attending church at Deacon and Sister McKinny's house located at 24th and Arch St. in Little Rock. It was here that I fell in love with the Bass, which was introduced to me by a brother named Charles Perkins out of the East End of Little Rock. Charles played a Fender Telecaster Bass.
